Constipation Home Remedies


Constipation is one of the most common of the digestive system that is experienced by every person in one or other phase of their life. Constipation is also the cause of many problems which occur due to it like appendicitis, rheumatism, arthritis, high blood pressure, cataract, etc. Low fiber diet, low intake of fluids, weakness in abdominal muscles & low motility in intestines are prime causes of Constipation.



Home Remedy For Constipation

  • Hydrate your body sufficiently. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water in a day so as to dissolve the nutrients properly.
  • If you are heavily constipated, drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed.
  • Cabbage is really good in treating constipation as its rich in fibers. Include cabbage in your diet daily. Salad & Juice of cabbage will be idle.
  • Water kept overnight in a copper vessel should be taken in the morning with your stomach empty.
  • Take equal amount of orange juice & olive oil, mix them well & drink it on regular basis.
  • Take Carrot juice at bedtime.
  • Include Spinach in your diet. Raw spinach will be idle.
  • Take a tsp of linseed (Alsi) with water. It lubricates the bowel.
  • Taking hot water with lime juice is also beneficial in constipation.
  • Orange juice when taken empty stomach in the morning would be beneficial in treating constipation.
  • Lastly: "A guava a day keeps the constipation away."
