A kidney stone, also known as a renal calculus is a solid concretion or crystal aggregation formed in the kidneys from dietary minerals in the urine. Almost 10% of the population suffer from kidney stone once in their lifetime. This disease in not age restricted. However males are more prone to this disease than women & that too in age of 20-40. Symptoms include retention of urine, severe pain in ureter & in corresponding pathway of stone.
Causes may be drinking less amount of fluids, intake of food with higher mineral content (specially calcium & phosphate) and suppressing the urge for micturition.

Home remedies:
- Mix 1 tsp of the juice of Holy basil leaves and 1 tsp of honey. Take this every morning for 5-6 months.
- Prepare a decoction by boiling 2-3 figs in a cup of water. Drink this on an empty stomach in the morning for one month.
- Drink a glass of fresh Tomato juice, with a pinch of salt and pepper in the morning without eating anything.
- Eat Watermelon as a fruit its juice.
- Take 1 cup of radish leaves juice twice a day.
- Eat 2-3 apples a day.
- Drink around 10 glasses of water a day.
- Drink milk, preferably lukewarm.
- Drink coffee, tea, wine and beer judicially. This decreases the risk of developing stones.
- Avoid eating meat or any high protein diet.
- Avoid any calcium supplements if you are taking them & also avoid calcium-rich diet.
- Increase the use of Lemonade. Lemon juice contains unusually high concentration of citrates, which stops the formation of calcium stones.
- Drink only Mineral water as it reduces concentrations of calcium and uric acid, making the urine less alkaline and less likely to form stones.
