2) Myth: Skipping meals will speed up weight loss
Fact: This is gravest of all myths. Skipping meals will make you even more hungry and you will end up eating more than normal at your next meal; increasing the total number of calories consumed. On the contrary, studies show strong link between skipping meals (breakfast particularly) & obesity. So never skip meals.
3) Fat-free diet means no calories
Fact : Ya. If you believe this, you are wrong. Fat-free diet means less calories. Actually full-fat diets are high in calories and they are very hard to burn. Also the processed fats products are not significantly low in amount of calories in comparison with that of full-fat diets. Instead they can conatin some more calories as they are added with extra refined sugars to improve the texture of the product.
4) No snacking between meals
Fact: I know you will be happy to know that this is myth and not fact. Trust me its full fact. Many of them believe not to take anything between meals presuming that it will add up increasing the calories count. But if you think logically, eating small amounts of snacks in between meals (when you are hungry) will actually curb you from eating full meal. This will eventually end you up consuming less food; less calories. Think.
5) Certain Magic foods will burn more calories
Fact: Believe me, there are no known evidence about any foods increasing your metabolism and burning more calories. Even if any such food prevails, it will only end up improving & maintaining metabolic rate rather than increasing it. So no need to consider such foods a "magic food" as they don't exist.
6) Eat, drink, be merry + exercise = No weight gain in future
Fact: Its craziest of myths I ever came across. You ought to make dietary and lifestyle changes to cope-up with your age and metabolic rate. Its simple rule that you need to cut out whats more and add up whats less to balance them out. The best instance fitting in the about rule is exercise and calories. Less the exercise will lead to more calories.
