Oily skin can really produce a headache for you if you stop
thinking about it. It’s not your fault at all to have a oily skin; but if you
don't take care of it, it can turn out be a gravest mistake you can ever make.
Excessive oil over your skin makes your skin look shiny, thick and a bit debrid
as it catches the dust particles suspended in environment very easily due to
its sticky nature.
What actually oily skin means?
Your body contains several glands and each of them has its
own importance and function. One of the types is sebaceous glands located in
your skin. Its main function is to secrete a greasy substance called sebum.
Under normal circumstances, they secrete very moderate amount of sebum which is
needed for normal physiology of skin; but due to some reasons, when it becomes
over-active it starts producing sebum in abnormally large amount giving a
greesy, oily, dreadful look to the skin. This type of hyper secretion of sebum
results in skin pathologies like Acne and Blackheads. Skin pores become
enlarged or get clogged.
So it becomes our utmost duty to keep the over-secreted
sebum at bay for healthy, oil-free skin. To do that you should follow following tips.
1) Wash your face twice a day. One in the morning and one
before going to bed. But always remember that anything excess is disastrous and
same is in the case for washing. If you over wash your face your sebaceous
glands actually tend to produce more oil and sebum than before to keep up the
balance.
2) Scrubbing your face will stimulate oil production. But
gentle scrubbing is allowed. But avoid harsh scrubbing at any cost.
3) Exfoliation will surely be helping in removing debris,
dead skin cells & dirt from skin pores and thus removing blackheads. But don’t
exfoliate too much as it can lead to moisture loss.
4) If oily skin is accompanied with pimples, never ever try
to pop or squeeze the pimples as it can lead to further skin infection and that red
spots and scars on your face, will not look pretty either.
5) Always travel with medicated bloating paper with you as
it can also prove a handy tool to remove excess oil. They will also give a freshening
touch to your oily skin.
6) Oily skin too needs moisturizer. Ya. When you de-moisturize your skin, sebaceous
glands will end up producing more oil to cop-up with the oil lost. Hence choose
water based moisturizer.
7) Never ignore sunscreen lotions. Instead you should apply
sunscreens which are gel-based rather than oil based to protect yourself from
tanning and pigmentation. Sunscreens with SPF 15 are good but those with SPF 30+
are ideal. They must be on your face before 20 minutes of outing.
8) Face pack can will surely turn out to be your best
friend. Following facepacks can be
really helpful when used once or twice a week; with the rule called “Apply, let
it dry completely & wash.”
- Paste of fresh apples and honey.
- Paste of 1 ripe papaya and 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- Paste of Multani mitti and rosewater
9) Use Rosewater as skin toner as it is best known toner so
far. If you want to use other toners, be sure to choose alcohol-free toner.

ReplyDeleteAim for washing your face two or three times a day, and, between cleansings, wipe away excess oil with either an antibacterial astringent or one containing acetone, which dissolves oil. Like this
