11 BEST SKIN CARE TIPS IN SUMMER

 
Summer; the season of perspiration, dehydration, intolerable heat and utmost discomfort. It is a season that everyone dreads; especially countries in temperate zone.  Fortunately, your skin need not take the burns of the heat this season. I have some tips that will help you keep your skin fresh even when the sun makes mercury to stay high.
  1. Drink at least 10-15 glasses of water to keep yourself hydrated. Not only it will nourish your skin but also flush off the toxins from the body.
  2. Cleanse your face at least twice a day.
  3. Buttermilk is really skin friendly product. Apply buttermilk on face and neck; allow it to dry and wash off after it dries up.
  4. Avoid going out in sun between 11 am-4pm; that's when the sun is at its scorching height and literally burns out your skin. (Especially in hot climatic countries like UAE, African countries, India, Australia, etc.)
  5. Make sure you don't go out without applying sunscreen. Sunscreen used is to be applied at least 20-30 minutes before going out in the sun. It is advisable to choose the sunscreen with SPF 30.
  6. Use potent and natural moisturizers like Rose water, cucumber juice, watermelon juice, etc are best for moisturizing skin.
  7. Exfoliate the facial skin with scrub. Following is a way of preparing one of the scrub: take about half a cup milk, 5 tbsp of gram flour (besan), pinch of turmeric and 5-6 drops of rose water. make a paste of it. This is one of the effective homemade scrub. Scrubbing must be followed by applying moisturizer; preferably natural moisturizer
  8. You can also apply aloe gel or moisturizer containing aloe extracts as Aloe is best herbal product for skin.
  9. Avoid drinking airated drinks as they are rich in sugar which is not good for your skin and figure. Instead, quench your thirst with water, fresh fruit juices, coconut water  and the best would be watermelon
  10. Make a natural face pack consisting of 3 tbsp of mashed papaya and 1 tbsp of honey. Apply it and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Apply it regularly to maintain the natural radiance and glow of the skin in summer.
  11. Avoid wearing tight outfits.


Note: For those who have sensitive skin, please avoid using lemon as it can irritate skin. You can substitute lemon with tomato.
