Mouth Ulcers Home Remedies

Mouth ulcer is an extreme painful condition that can appear on the tongue, the lips, and the gums or inside the cheeks. The first sign of the sore may be burning sensation inside the mouth. They can occur either singly or in clusters. They are usually yellow in color, surrounded by red halos. Normally they heal within 7 to 10 days.

Causes:

Nutritional deficiencies such as iron, vitamins, especially B12 and C
Biting the cheek
Poor oral hygiene
Food allergies
Stress
Hormonal imbalance
Indigestion



Home Remedies:-
 
Saline rinse: Rinsing your mouth with a saltwater solution helps by keeping  it clean from the bacteria.

Sucking the ice cubes: Coolness of ice can reduce the swelling of the ulcer, as well as reducing the pain. Drink cold water, if ice cubes are not available.
 
Tomatoes: Eat raw tomatoes to get rid of mouth ulcers. Gargle of tomato juice may also be helpful.
 
Coconut Water: Drink as well as gargle with coconut milk. It is highly recommended.
 
Reduce Acidity: Avoid acidic foods and drinks. Stay away from carbonated drinks, citrus fruits and spicy foods. Chew antacid tablets. Take a tablet a few times a day, especially before eating.
 
Mouthwash: Rinsing out mouth more often will clear out bacteria. Chlorhexidine gluconate mouthwash is ideal for this. Its used to treat gingivitis; but can also heal mouth ulcers.
 
Balanced Diet: You should consume a balanced diet containing all the essential minerals, vitamins and all that sort of stuff for your healthy well being.
 
Proper Oral Hygiene: As improper oral hygiene is the main cause of mouth ulcers, you should try and maintain your oral hygiene at supreme level.
